Life After Gymnastics – Is There One?

Wednesday, January 7th, 2009

What else is there but amateur competition and games like
the Olympics?

Believe it or not, there are many other uses of gymnastics
for your child besides amateur competition and the Olympic
games. Unlike some other sports, such as football or
hockey, which may only get him or her into a college on a
scholarship on an off chance, gymnastics has much more of a
future to offer those who are capable. Professional
gymnastics, gymnastics coaching, performances, and theater
are only a few of the options beyond the aforementioned –
quite literally, the sky is the limit.

Professional gymnastics

In terms of professional gymnastics there are quite
literally dozens of substyles to choose from, all of which
stem either from rhythmic gymnastics or artistic
gymnastics. Dancing, juggling, tumbling, rolling,
vaulting, horse and beams can be involved in a professional
competition. Even the rings, which are limited only to
men, are offered. Lucrative and fun for your gymnast, the
professional sport is typically reserved for those who are
extremely well-qualified. Lots of gymnasts who participate,
though, are fresh out of school. No rule states that one
must be an Olympic champion in order to enter a contest for
money. Obviously, the gymnast must be prepared both
physically and mentally. Of course, if your gymnast is the
best in his or her local or state division, then he or she
may want to go for a prize purse. Typically, those who do
have already won a few amateur titles. If you want to see
your son or daughter have the option of professional
gymnastics, keep this in mind… Every country that
participates in the Olympics, practically, has its own
professional tournaments and divisions. The possibilities
are wide.

Gymnastics coaching

Coaching for gymnastics may also be a viable suggestion for
your gymnast. After they have tired of competing with
other gymnasts, they can put their skills and their mettle
to the test by coaching young, up-and-coming gymnasts in
their quests for gold. This, usually, is a step left for
the far future, but it is always an option for the
accomplished gymnastics student, with some common sense and
some intuition, to teach the next generation. Olympic and
professional athletes could not get to where they are
today, after all, if they did not have the proper coaching.

Performances

This is perhaps the most diverse category yet of ‘other’
gymnastics. While many types of performing art may seem
unrelated to gymnastics, keep in mind that gymnastics can
be modified creatively.

The most obvious addition to this category would be dance.
Dance performances, no matter what type they may be
(ballet, ballroom, what have you), are inherently gymnastic
in their motion. This is why gymnastics students always
have a leg up (no pun intended) on some of the more
outrageous maneuvers like splits or high kicks or leaps
than those who have never had any experience with gymnastic
art.

Before you laugh at the idea…Circuses are a relatively
respectable use of gymnastics as well–and we don’t just
mean Barnum and Bailey’s, either. Artistic circuses such
as the Cirque du Soleil are famous for their contortionists
and for their high-flying acrobatic and gymnastic shows of
skill; in fact, the Cirque itself has international renown.
It is indeed a thought!

Theatrical performances routinely involve gymnastics,
sometimes in the form of displays of flexibility, other
times in the form of creative dance. Performances of this
sort are not only limited to the Broadway, off-Broadway, or
off-off-Broadway shows you might be thinking of. In fact,
if your gymnast also has an inclination toward ice skating,
there is an entirely new world of opportunity right at
their fingertips, so to speak. Shows that are on ice -
musicals, dramas, or what have you – are always filled with
outrageous and wonderful moves that your skilled gymnast
can surely identify with.

And finally, there is the idea of gymnastics on the big
screen–or the small screen. Hollywood is always looking
for people with gymnastic skill to perform as stunt doubles
or stars. In fact, so too are some television shows,
believe it or not.

Indeed, with your young gymnast’s abilities, they can go
anywhere their minds take them — and indeed, the way you
encourage them will play a large part in their continuing
gymnastic career. There is always something out there.
One needs only look!

The Advantages of an eCommerce Design for Your Website

Wednesday, January 7th, 2009

An ecommerce design for a website is a bit more expensive than a
standard static website, but for an ecommerce business – an
internet-based business that conducts financial transactions
online – an ecommerce design for the website is fundamental.

When considering your website development needs, you may wonder
if there are easy ways around getting an ecommerce design for
your website since an ecommerce design is more expensive than
getting a site without ecommerce design features, especially if
funds are tight starting out.

There are a few alternatives to an ecommerce design that could
get you by until you can afford the development expense for an
ecommerce design, but if you take your ecommerce business
seriously, you really do need an ecommerce design because of its
many advantages over other websites.

As an alternative to an ecommerce design, you could use your
website as a lead generation tool without actually conducting
financial transactions online. If you use your website for lead
generation rather than getting an ecommerce design for your
website, you will have many manual tasks to accomplish that will
be time consuming.

You can use a contact form, email, a fax line, or a phone number
to accept orders offering payment options such as sending in a
check or money order or providing a credit card number by phone,
if you have a merchant account.

This is not a very good option for you or your customers;
however, for more than one reason. Your customers may not take
your ecommerce business seriously if you do not have an ecommerce
design website that accepts payments online. Online shoppers are
also generally impulse buyers.

If the process of purchasing something from your company is too
cumbersome, many will just surf the net and find another
alternative, so your sales potential will be diminished. You will
also have to manually process orders and payments and matching
the order to the payment can be a complicated task at times, so
your order fulfillment process might be inefficient.

That results in poor customer service, angry customers and
negativity against the reputation of your business. Really, it is
a vicious circle.

A more beneficial alternative to an ecommerce design is the use
of PayPal’s automated payment features. PayPal enables you to
place “Pay Now” buttons on your website which will enable your
customers to make online payments to your PayPal account.

This is certainly a better alternative than having no online
payment option on your website; however, a website with an
ecommerce design will likely be much more appealing to your
website visitors.

The benefits of an ecommerce design are that it enables your
customers to place orders quickly and easily, especially if you
have a shopping cart feature in your ecommerce design. Multiple
products or services can be purchased at one time, the order
(including tax and shipping) can be automatically totaled, and
the customer can make an online payment for the complete order.

Some ecommerce design features may even send the customer an
order confirmation and if you have shipping tracking built into
your ecommerce design, you can update your database when an order
ships and a tracking confirmation will be automatically sent to
your customers via email so they can keep tabs on the status of
their order.

The main advantages of an ecommerce design is that it automated
the sales process, improves customer confidence, increases sales,
and saves you loads of time in the order processing and follow-up
processes.

An ecommerce design might be a bit more costly than other designs
in the website development phase, but over the long run, your
ecommerce design will pay for itself ten-fold at least in
increased revenues and saved time.

Super deal 17500 dollar at a safe rate of interest of 7.1 percent

Monday, January 5th, 2009

13.4 percent rate may come along so fairish but will it stay uniform after you’re going to redeem your deferred payment. Many of the banks wil show you a loan rate that is looking effective but doesn’t feel well or so after a while. It makes no difference if you live in Minot North Dakota or in Montgomery Alabama a effective online inspection will allay you often huge troubles. This is why now you really need to suss out and interpret if you can have a bank loan at a dependable percent interest rate. Check out to see if the merchant bank who is willing to give you a credit loan is ok. A bank in Knoxville Tennessee or so may have a total different actual interest rate for a 25000 dollar credit loan then a moneylender in Lima Ohio and that makes a huge clear difference in your weekly costs. Be burnished today to check up if you have a great deal or if you don’t with the merchant bank that offers you a loan. At present you can look into rates of interest quickly at websites and insure if there are other possible traps you should be aware of.

Baseball Hand Signals Just Like A Railroad Crossing: Gate Down Stop, Gate Up Go

Monday, January 5th, 2009

Baseball players would be in a pretty pickle if all signals were verbal. Would a player be excused, by an irate fit to be tied coach, if he did not hear the screaming that goes on.

The coaches are out there giving signals. The umpire is giving signals. Baseball players are watching everything. What is this signal thing about anyway?

There is a secret among a coach and his players and they dare not let the opponent in on the know. I have seen the first and third base coaches play around out there like they had the itch or mosquitoes biting or something.

They will scratch their shirts across the letters, take off their caps, run their hands thru their hair, rub the back of their legs with their foot, and even rub their arms like crazy.I know something must be up. Wonder if it’s catching?

I’ll tell you who had better catch it. Those team players. I’m told these are their secret signals.

The umpires also go thru all kind of gyrations. I have seen the base umps run down the foul line on a well hit ball suddenly stop, turn toward the playing field and point like a bird dog on point.

Another common antic of an umpire is he will intently watch when a runner is running to a base and a tag is about to be made. If the tag is too late to get the runner out then the umpire goes half ape. He will stand there throwing his hand out as if he is shooing away a swarm of gnats. Then he calmly turns his back and walks away.

Players may jump up and down and exclaim he was out and the manager may even come a running. Brother, the umpire simply stands there with his arms folded across his chest and utters not a word. The coach sends his players away with a hand motion. The coach has his say to the ump. The coach makes out like he is mad but suddenly, like an ole hound dog which has been shot with a B B gun, he tucks and trots away.

Folks all of this signalling and use of hands serves a most useful and human purpose.

Many, many years ago a couple of deaf players loved and played the game of baseball. These two gentlemen, a Mr. Luther Taylor and Mr.William Hoy, are owed a tremendous debt of gratitude for their dedicated insistence for use and development of umpire hand signals.

I refer to these gentlemen as Mr. in respect for what they did for our great game of baseball. You see they are credited with making umpire hand signals an integral part of the game.

Dummy Hoy,William Ellsworth Hoy played professional baseball from 1888-1932 with a lifetime batting average of .288.

Major Wiley B. Channell USMC (retired) staying put and bringing baseball fans only the best at http://www.baseballfarming.com in tune with baseball.

Baseball is more than a game. It is people playing the game.

Cisco CCNA Certification Exam Tutorial: Distance Vector Command Review

Sunday, January 4th, 2009

Part of studying for CCNA exam success is keeping all these new commands straight in your head! And let’s face it, there are a lot of commands you need to know in order to pass the CCNA exam and earn that certification. Here’s a review of some very important distance vector and static routing commands you need to know, along with their proper usage and console output.

Bandwidth
IGRP makes a default assumption that any Serial interface running IGRP is connected to a T1 line, which runs at 1544 KBPS. With equal-cost load-balancing enabled by default, this may be an undesirable assumption.

To alter IGRP’s assumption, use the bandwidth command on the serial interface in question. Note that this command does NOT actually affect the bandwidth available to the interface; it merely changes IGRP’s assumption of the bandwidth.
R2#conf t

R2(config)#int s0

R2(config-if)#bandwidth 512

Clear ip route *

This command clears your routing table of all non-static and non-connected routes. In a lab environment, it’s very handy because it forces your routers running routing protocols to send and request updates, rather than waiting for the regularly scheduled updates.
R2#clear ip route *

Debug ip igrp events

Debug ip igrp events allows you to see IGRP updates being sent and requested. Here, the debug is run and then the routing table is cleared. The router immediately broadcasts update requests via the IGRP-enabled interfaces.

R2#debug ip igrp event

IGRP event debugging is on

R2#clear ip route *

06:02:51: IGRP: broadcasting request on BRI0

06:02:51: IGRP: broadcasting request on Serial0.123

Debug ip igrp transactions

To configure IGRP unequal-cost load-sharing with the variance command, you’ve got to know the metric of the less-desirable routes. EIGRP keeps these in its topology table; IGRP has no such table.

To get the metrics of routes not in the routing table, run debug ip igrp transactions. To force IGRP updates, the routing table below was cleared with clear ip route *.

R2#debug ip igrp transactions

IGRP protocol debugging is on

R2#clear ip route *

06:05:33: IGRP: received update from 172.12.123.1 on Serial0.123

06:05:33: subnet 172.12.123.0, metric 10476 (neighbor 8476)

06:05:33: network 1.0.0.0, metric 8976 (neighbor 501)

06:05:33: IGRP: edition is now 3

06:05:33: IGRP: sending update to 255.255.255.255 via BRI0 (172.12.12.2)

06:05:33: network 1.0.0.0, metric=8976

06:05:33: IGRP: sending update to 255.255.255.255 via Serial0.123 (172.12.123.2) – suppressing null update

06:05:34: IGRP: received update from 172.12.12.1 on BRI0

06:05:34: subnet 172.12.13.0, metric 160250 (neighbor 8476)

06:05:34: network 1.0.0.0, metric 158750 (neighbor 501)

Debug ip rip

R2#debug ip rip

IP protocol debugging is on

R2#clear ip route *

6:14:53: RIP: received v2 update from 172.23.23.3 on Ethernet0

6:14:53: 1.0.0.0/8 via 0.0.0.0 in 16 hops (inaccessible)

6:14:53: 1.1.1.1/32 via 0.0.0.0 in 2 hops

6:14:53: 172.12.0.0/16 via 0.0.0.0 in 16 hops (inaccessible)

6:14:53: 172.12.12.2/32 via 0.0.0.0 in 2 hops

6:14:53: 172.12.13.0/30 via 0.0.0.0 in 1 hops

6:14:53: 172.12.123.0/24 via 0.0.0.0 in 1 hops

6:14:53: 172.23.0.0/16 via 0.0.0.0 in 16 hops (inaccessible)

Run debug ip rip to troubleshoot routing update problems, RIP authentication problems, and to view the routing update contents. Clear ip route * was run to clear the routing table and to force a RIP update.

Ip route
R2#conf t

R2(config)#ip route 1.1.1.1 255.255.255.255 172.12.123.1

OR

R2(config)#ip route 1.1.1.1 255.255.255.255 serial0

To configure a static route to a given destination IP address, use the ip route command. The destination is followed by a subnet mask, and that can be followed by either the next-hop IP address or the exit interface on the local router.

Ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0

R2#conf t

R2(config)#ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 172.12.123.1

OR

R2(config)#ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 ethernet0

To configure a default static route, use either of these two commands.

You could have any number for the first “0.0.0.0″, since the second set of zeroes is the subnet mask. This means that any destination will match this route statement.

That’s a good review to get started with! I’ll be back tomorrow with Part II of this CCNA exam command review!

Short Guide to Gaming Room Taking a Risk: the Gambling Pastimes Gambling Enthusiasts Contend in

Saturday, January 3rd, 2009

In the likely case that you haven’t yet figured out betting saloon card-playing, you’ll want to read the following —

casinos blackjack

The most common definition of a betting house is a house that caters to games of luck. Here, guests are invited to gamble at the coin operated machines or different pastimes of luck. Gambling saloon games usually have transparent percentages built in which ensure the house retains dominion versus the guests. Frequently betting hall games can goad you into being far too infatuated very rapidly. There is the time-honored 1-armed-bandit, a cash operated gadget with 3+ drums that pirouette if an arm on its side is operated. The instrument regularly will spill winnings in correlation to a set arrangement of motifs perceptible on the panel of the appliance. Regrettably, gambling house games proffer an illusion of domination, thereby hoodwinking the customer – the addressee is ceded choices, but in reality these will not really match up the client’s long-term negative odds. That is induced by the betting establishment not refunding the entire wager as expected. This arrangement is again and again seen at work in well known casino games such as Texas hold’em, dice games, roulette or blackjack.

Straight poker is genuinely an incredibly popular casino pastime. The betting enthusiasts, closely guarding their fully covered cards, make bets into a principal pot that is bestowed onto the winning gamester controlling the best set of cards. (Of course, the best bluffer may well prevail) Comparable to Texas hold’em, blackjack too is a highly trendy casino game. An amount of its appeal is caused by its particular mix of chance and technique & choice making, and a praxis identified as Card Counting. The aforementioned is an approach in which gambling devotees will force the arm of chance of the card game for their own ends both by betting & systematic opetations in correspondence with the cards dealt. “Craps” is a acclaimed pastime where punters may bet on the roll of dice. Patrons make wagers on the score of 1 spin, or on a succession of spins of two dice. Dissimilar to blackjack, there is no practicable sustainable killer system people can profit from to improve the odds. Roulette is another immensely popular game of luck — a croupier spins a roulette wheel which incorporates precisely thirtyseven (French roulette) or thirty-eight (applies to Vegas roulette) uniquely numbered chambers in which a rolling ball must come to rest, which defines the final winning number as well as the other chances that come with it. Now if the player bets on a number which is successful i.e. they’ve got a lucky hand, the set remuneration will be 35:1, the original bet proper being repaid. Consequently in total it’s multiplied by 36.

It’s strongly recommended that you try to be emphatically watchful notwithstanding as such gaming establishment betting games should be considered alarmingly addictive. A multitude of lives may have been wasted due to uncontrolled gambling + albeit it indeed may be entertaining, seek to control yourself.

Three Keys To An Effective Web Site

Friday, January 2nd, 2009

Redesign To Stay Relevant
Web sites have the same shelf-life as print and broadcast advertising commercials. Very seldom do you see the same ad run longer than several months? You’ll see the same product, but the packaging changes because times change, issues change, public consciousness changes, and the way people research and judge businesses or buy items changes. If businesses are not updating their materials or message, they are shortchanging themselves and will eventually be overtaken by smarter, more aggressive competitors.

The new competitive edge is to redesign and update your Web site in order to stay relevant to potential customers.

And these customers are no longer down the street or across town. They’re worldwide and they’re creating a large pool of wealth for businesses that take their Web site seriously and do what’s necessary to connect with people. The Internet has erased state and country borders and has created a global economy that gets more technically savvy each day.

When potential customers surf the Internet, the first impression they get from your Web site is its design. Much like a storefront, it’s either attractive and professional, or it’s shoddy and questionable. A powerful Web site design creates a sense of trust and respect between you and your on-line visitors. The site explains its purpose clearly and quickly, and why a visitor should spend time browsing it. The client has to be able to say with little doubt, “This is a place where I can do business.”

Search Engine Optimization

The growth of the World Wide Web continues at a phenomenal pace. And that explosion is quickly changing the way people shop for items or information. The World Wide Web has truly made us one economy, one world.

Whether it’s a product, service, issue or cause that you want customers and potential customers to know about, you’ll need to rank high in major search engine results or become a victim of “search fatigue” because you’re buried on page 8 or 18, where most people never tread.

It is paramount that your Web company specialize in Search Engine Optimization so your business is listed on the first or second page of a search. This tactic ensures more eyeballs see your site than your competitors. “Eyes on screens” is the name of the game when it comes attracting new customers. Your Web company also must be dedicated to studying the major search engines to stay in tune with new algorithms and search methods that deliver top rankings.

Experience
Almost anyone can build a Web site these days, so your best bet is to find an experienced company that has built hundreds of successful sites — someone who’s seen it all and has the knowledge to prove it. They should have a good understanding of Web marketing, e-commerce applications, data management, and e-mail marketing.

A broad background in Web design could include: computer companies, medical groups, trade industries, financial management firms, E-commerce businesses, auto retailers, software companies, real estate companies, architectural firms, engineering companies, military contractors and many other businesses. Experience like this ensures your Web company understands the world of business, the economy and buyer’s habits. It provides a great competitive edge over the business using a run-of-the-mill Web designer.

My Mother Never Had a Website.

Friday, January 2nd, 2009

My Mother never had a website.

It’s the one question that sets the average webmaster’s teeth on edge – Why do I actually need a website?

It always strikes me as the internet equivalent to “what is one plus one?” Yes, I do know the answer, but when someone asks you to explain exactly WHY one plus one equals two, then you have to stop and think about it a little more yourself.

To play devil’s advocate briefly, the world is saturated with advertising media – TV, posters, newspapers, handouts, telephones, SMS messages, movies, videos and DVDs, audio, and even sales teams I am already paying every one of which probably has the power of speech. So now, you want to hit me for a website so even yak farmers in Nepal and market traders in Uganda can learn about my products on-line. Well that sounds really useful but for this week, I’ll pass.

How do we answer this honestly?

I say honestly, because it is always a temptation just to say that since there are over 11.2 billion websites available on the internet then clearly someone must think that they are useful to have around! But that is not really an answer. After all, about half of the world’s population has pierced ears, wear dresses and use make-up. I do not – am I missing out? Or am I perhaps right in thinking they look a tad misplaced on a bearded male web designer? So – no short cuts then.

I suggest we have to go back to basics & look at the website in comparison with traditional marketing tools.

I always use this as my example.

Supposing you put a leaflet under a windscreen wiper of every car on the planet for a single fee on a single day, would that be worth your trouble?

After all: – Some people do not have a car,

An awful lot of people will just pull the leaflet out and throw it away unread,

Some cannot read it,

Some will read it – but do not want or need your product,

A few might read it and then pass it on to their friends,

Some might blow away from under the windscreen wiper of their car, or be dropped by other “readers” and someone else might pick them up,

Just a few of these who respond well to your well-designed leaflet will say – “Oh! Yeah! Great!” And will contact you,

This is called “conversion” If your conversion rate was only 0.01%, how many sales would you get?

On the net, your site is (or should be) viewable on every computer on the planet that has an internet connection (Estimated at 168,000,000 with 63, 0000 more every day).

Consider the possibilities of that kind of exposure – how little it will cost in comparison with all the other form of mass media with that kind of coverage such as worldwide use of national newspapers, radio and TV.

As with our leaflet campaign, you will draw many blanks – and there are many other leaflets out there – but now at least you are in the game.

I do not plan to get into issues of search engine strategies at this time, but with your “WWW” on every business card, receipt, company car, shop, signboard, staff uniform, coffee mug, pen, key fob and just about anything else you can lay hands on, it’s a simple matter of increasing your company’s exposure and that never hurts.

You are driving the public to the website where you can lay out your wares to their best advantage – and feel free to change your leaflet’s content ten times a day if you feel so inclined without having to go to the time and trouble of re-leafleting the planet, or at least your corner of it.

Things To Look Out For When Making Mobile Phone Purchases

Thursday, January 1st, 2009

A big and forever growing mobile telephone UK market following the rule of introducing ‘a phone a day’ has now made it awfully complicated for cell phone customers to compare mobile special offers. Most of the time, there are innumerable aspects that individuals need to look into when making cell phone comparisons that some of the most crucial ones get overlooked.

As a result, one consistently end up having a cell phone which is either too costly or a phone which is not entirely suitable for your mobile phone call and text profile. Thus we point out here about the 2 very most foremost things that folk should constantly look into when making mobile purchases. This may help cell phone customers land a mobile phone that at least meets the basic criteria individuals are looking for. Get great o2 mobile phone deals from the market leading comparison site MobileShop.

The total cell phone UK market is booming on the basis of terrific features like mp3 players that keep getting added every week. Yet, an astonishingly large majority of people acquire cell phones based on their appearance, brand image and incredible marketing only to regret later on when mobile customers observe that their super phone lacks a deeply standard feature like sending text or video photography. Abounding breathtaking expensive phones sell on the basis of marketing, brand and looks at prices that are unjustified given the lack of features. For example the latest Apple Iphone 3G does not let mobile customers forward messages to all. Unfortunately, this phone’s target audience, early twenties, gets to regret the loss of this mobile phone feature only after spending weeks worth of wages on it. Thus make sure that your magnificent new cell phone has all the features like cameras you require before paying up. Since cell phone businesses will never tell cell phone customers about the spectacular features like interactive maps that their mobile phones lack, reading up online mobile phone articles is the greatest way to do it.
