Halloween Party Ideas for this October
Tuesday, August 31st, 2010
With Casper as inspiration, a kids Halloween celebration with a neighborly ghost theme has the right mixture of tricks and treats. Ask the young ghouls to come dressed up, but you can also have them make scary masks as part of the festivities. Some other halloween party ideas include spooky decorations, terrifying bites and a friendly ghoul search. With friendly smiles instead of scary expressions, the spooks on these Halloween fete invitations will have kids anxiously anticipating the fete, not scaring them away.
Nothing sets the mood like frightful Halloween decor. Thread up black paper bat garland. Cut out oversized question marks from dark paper and string them up as well. Use ink to create fingerprints onto clear acetate paper, cut out and attach to mirrors and windows around the home! Of course, no murder mystery would be complete without a few suspicious “weapons” lying around. Set out items like a wrench, toy dagger and label and empty bottle, “POISON” to bring on the suspicion!Bake peanut butter cookies and chocolate cookies to give to your guests. Put the cookies in a clear plastic bag, alternating the peanut butter cookies with the chocolate cookies to coordinate with the orange and black theme. Tie the bag shut with a cute piece of orange or black ribbon.
A witch isn’t quite as marvelous without her broom. If you have enough party space, coordinate broom races for your witches-in-training.
You’ll either need a large room (think finished basement or living room with the furniture cleared to side) or if it’s a nice, sunny October day, have your broom races on the grass.Make sure you have at least one broom per party guest. Fortunately, you probably have at least one or two in the house and you can buy the rest at a dollar shop. You can even request that each witch BYOB… Bring Your Own Broom (but do not forget to send it back home with her).
